Organisation Background

Founded in 2011, the International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is an international NGO that supports humanitarian aid workers by establishing safety coordination platforms in insecure contexts. INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services, including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety-related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations, and training.

INSO provides daily support to more than 1,200 NGOs operating in 17 of the world’s most insecure countries. INSO is registered in the Netherlands, with its headquarters based in The Hague, the international city of peace and justice.

 

Job Summary

Reporting to the IT Manager, as the IT Officer, you will be based at INSO’s Headquarters in The Hague. Limited (if any) travel outside of the Netherlands is required for this role.

You will be responsible for providing high-level IT and application support to all INSO offices and administering global IT services such as INSO’s Microsoft 365 tenant, Exchange Online, Enterprise applications and licensing, and Domain/DNS maintenance and troubleshooting.

You should have a strong background in Information Technology or computer sciences combined with significant practical IT support experience in a multi-national organisation with offices in multiple countries.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On demand support for hardware, software, and general IT issues to all staff, either in-person (HQ) or via TeamViewer/MS Teams in coordination with country office IT contacts.
  • Install and configure computers, mobiles, and applications to INSO standards.
  • Monitor and maintain INSO’s network environment (Domains, DNS, SSL certs, IPs)
  • Manage and monitor INSO’s third-party cloud applications and services (Hosting providers, Certificate vendors, SaaS providers, Software vendors).
  • Administer the INSO SharePoint Online environment, including and permission structure.
  • Manage and provision Microsoft 365 accounts via Admin portal(s) and Entra admin center, including password resets and MFA methods management/resets.
  • Provide in-person or remote “IT onboarding” sessions for new hire staff.
  • Assist in IT training of country position with IT responsibilities.
  • Assist the IT Manager with IT projects, deployments, and rollouts on demand.
  • Assist in developing tutorials and documentation for INSO IT applications, tools, and services.
  • Assist the IT Manager in monitoring INSO’s IT systems and enforcing Cybersecurity policy using Microsoft 365 Security products and services (Windows Defender/Intune).
  • Monitor usage, renewal and billing aspects of all third-party IT related applications and services (assisting the IT Manager with relevant administrative tasks).
  • Administer ArcGIS and Adobe products including, licensing, installations, and troubleshooting and support.
  • Perform scheduled and on-demand reporting on IT services and licenses for HQ departments.
  • Assist the IT Manager with procurement of IT hardware and equipment, including relevant administrative tasks.
  • All reasonable duties commensurate with the role.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential:

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Degree or equivalent professional certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant field.
  • At least 2 years’ experience supporting IT systems and services.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365 Applications, Microsoft 365 Admin portals, Entra admin center, Exchange Online, SharePoint online, OneDrive, Microsoft Intune.
  • Extensive experience supporting, installing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows OS devices and applications.
  • Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services.
  • Familiarity with subscription and license management for Enterprise applications (for example ArcGIS and Adobe products)
  • Must have the right to live and work in the Netherlands.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Microsoft PowerShell scripting skills and experience.
  • French language skills
  • Existing knowledge of and affinity to INSO and its mission.

Terms & Conditions:

Fixed-term (renewable) full-time contract based in The Hague, Netherlands, €4,200 per month, 8% vacation pay (vakantiegeld), 2.5 days annual leave per month. We also provide Basic Premium Health Insurance with ONVZ. The right to live and work in the Netherlands is required for this position.
